About us

Dream Workshop is a non-governmental organization that creates opportunities for young people with mental and complex disabilities.

We develop services rooted in human rights, dignity, and the intrinsic value of every person. Our Supported Living Houses and Day Centres are safe and nurturing spaces where young people can build everyday, social, emotional, and creative skills. We also support families and engage in public education and advocacy. We believe that every person has the right to growth, choice, and respect — and that everyone deserves a place in the community.

Our influence

The activities of “Dream Workshop” are not only about programs and projects, but about real changes in people’s lives. We are proud of the successes of young people and families who have found support and opportunities through our work.

Maryna’s story:

Maryna is 22 years old. She lives in one of our Supported Living Houses and attends the Day Centre every day. There, young people with mental and complex disabilities develop independence, learn to interact with the world around them, and explore their creativity. Most importantly, Maryna feels safe and valued here. In the past, she lived in various care institutions and spent several years in a psychiatric hospital. At first, it was difficult for her to trust people, but the stable and friendly environment helped her recover. Now, Maryna shares a home with friends, including her close friend Angelica. They enjoy doing puzzles, listening to music, and walking around the city together. Thanks to this support, Maryna has found a true home and a sense of belonging. During a painting class, she once drew a large table surrounded by chairs and said: “This is my home now. It was my dream. Many guests came here for my birthday, and we had a real holiday.”

The Krak Family’s story

For Nazar, a boy with autism, having a clear daily routine is very important. At the “Dream Workshop” NGO, he found a predictable and supportive environment where he could develop independence and feel confident. The classes helped him become more active and proactive — he started cooking breakfast at home on his own, went on his first hike in the mountains with other students from the Day Centre without his parents, and even once dared to ride a motorcycle!

Nazar’s family shares that what they value most about the organization is the respectful and dignified attitude. Here, he is not seen as a person with “special needs” but as an equal — someone capable of making decisions and learning new things.

Thanks to this support, Nazar feels happy and accepted. And so does his family, who sees real change in their daily life.

These are just some of the stories of how we are changing lives together. Your support helps write new chapters for our youth.
